The Information to Hand Over With a Lamp Gift
Keep the instructions, supplied parts, order reference, and current support routes together so the recipient can make the final placement decision.
By Lumière Light Studio Editorial
Wrapping a lamp is not the whole handover. The person receiving it also needs to know which instructions belong to it, where its supplied parts are, and how to ask a question about the order. A simple information packet can keep those details from disappearing with the wrapping.
Keep product information with the object
Preserve the original instructions and identifying information. If the gift has travelled through your home first, make sure its paperwork has not become mixed with another lamp's documents. Similar-looking products may have different setup requirements.
Keep supplied parts together and identifiable. Do not add a substitute cable or adapter because it looks compatible. Use only what the listing or manufacturer specifies, and ask support about any missing or unclear requirement before presenting the lamp as ready to use.
Avoid assembling or dismantling the gift for presentation unless the instructions explicitly cover the action. A more attractive arrangement in a gift box does not justify an improvised handling method, especially where glass is involved.
Prepare a short handover record
- The exact product and selected option, as recorded on the order.
- The original setup and handling instructions.
- The location of all supplied parts and protective packaging.
- A way to access the order reference when a question arises.
- The current Returns and Client Care page addresses.
Share order details thoughtfully. A printed receipt may contain your address or other information you do not want to circulate. Agree how you will provide a reference if needed without hiding the existence of the order or promising a special gift process.
Check the current Returns page yourself before the handover. Then point the recipient to that page rather than summarising a time limit, fee, or outcome from memory. The current Client Care page is the appropriate place to check the route for product or order questions.
Let the recipient decide the final position
A note can explain the room you had in mind without presenting that location as a requirement. The recipient may have a better surface or a different evening arrangement. They should check the full dimensions, control access, and specified power connection at the chosen spot.
If they intend to use it for close work, distinguish that need from decorative light. The fact that a lamp was chosen as a gift does not establish its suitability for reading or another task. Encourage a practical check rather than an assurance you cannot support.
Retain protective packaging until the recipient has read the relevant guidance and decided what information they need. Do not promise that packaging alone determines a later request's outcome.
Before wrapping is discarded, ask whether the instructions, parts, and order contact are accounted for. That small administrative step is the purpose of the checklist: a complete handover, with the final choice about use left to the person receiving the lamp.
